John Lewis spring Barbour coats and the new Steve McQueen collection

John Lewis has long been one of the top British destinations for stylish men, and this spring they’re continuing that tradition with sportswear and outerwear designed for the man who wants practicality and style all in one package. British retailer John Lewis has an excellent range of Barbour coats that combine practical assets like waterproofing or extra pockets with stylish details like tailored cuts and contrasting buttons. John Lewis’ range of Barbour coats are perfect for hiking, sporting, or simply staying warm and dry during a spring rain shower. And with prices starting below 100 pounds, these jackets are an affordable luxury—perfect as a gift for yourself or for any stylish man in your life. This spring, John Lewis ups the style quotient even further by releasing a special capsule collection centered on iconic Hollywood movie star Steve McQueen. McQueen was quite famously an enthusiastic motorist; he enjoyed racing cars and motorcycles in his action films and in his spare time, he loved to race motorcycles as a hobby and in competitions. He could often be spotted in Barbour’s International Jacket. In fact, in 1970 McQueen competed in the Lake Elsinore Grand Prix, finishing in the top ten out of a pack of 500 riders. It’s fitting then that John Lewis chose to build a collection around the star, as Lake Elsinore is the theme of their spring/summer 2013...

Is it right to Dress your Boyfriend/Husband

After reading this article in Cosmopolitan, I have discussed with friends many times whether or not is it alright to dress your boyfriend? I got a mixed response, but the majority of friends said that, in an ideal world, he’d be able to dress himself and that a gentle push in the right direction never hurt anyone. I’ve always felt this way too. But my boyfriend recently asked me how I’d feel if he started telling me how to dress. I have to admit that he had me stumped. What he lacks in fashion sense, he makes up for in having a cheeky answer to everything! I suppose it maybe it’s the right thing to just order or tell him what to wear, but there is something to be said for diplomacy and guiding him towards the right clothing. I tried to tell my boyfriend to never wear his favourite T-Shirt that just has the Guinness logo on it. he told me not to tell him what to do. I made a big deal when he wore a new T-Shirt I bought him, and he became more susceptible to my ‘advice’. I’ve send him some ‘advice’, in the form a link to the Drunknmunkey T-Shirts section on the Urban Male Clothing website. He likes this kind f look, he just never has the gumption or interest to go clothes...

Sneakers for all occasions: Converse Chuck Taylor Shoes

Fashion trends come and go on a seasonal basis, and shoe trends switch up fairly often as well. But while platforms might come and go and we might switch from round to pointy toes on our high heels depending on the decade, there’s one style of shoe that has remained popular for decades and will probably never go out of style: Converse Chuck Taylor Shoes. The sporty lace-up sneaker, made of canvas and rubber, has older origins than you might think! It was invented in 1917 by Converse and marketed simply as “All-Stars”, with Converse hoping to cash in on the basketball market. In the 1920s, basketball player and company spokesman Chuck Taylor improved the shoes’ design and their popularity took off. Converse subsequently incorporated Taylor’s signature into their logo and today the shoes are popularly known simply as “Chuck Taylors” after their famous original spokes model. Converse Chuck Taylor shoes have been hugely popular over the years with everyone from celebrities to youth in punk rock garage bands. Famous faces like Nicole Kidman and Gisele Bundchen love their Converse Chuck Taylors for more casual days. Rockers like Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti are known to rock Chuck Taylors 24-7. Perhaps the most famous face to wear Chuck Taylors on the red carpet is ‘Twilight’ actress Kristin Stewart, who has been known to pair couture minidresses with her beloved yet...

Choose 100% cotton for breathable, comfortable wear, and take the time to look at the styles available. In addition to the standard round-necked tee, you can also get soft V-neck styles, full sleeves and three-quarter sleeves, giving you the opportunity to dress your t-shirt up if you need to.
