Spend Time on Buying a Motorcycle Jacket, it saves lives

The clothing that is worn by motorcyclists does a lot more than simply keep them warm and looking cool. Every item of clothing worn by a motorcyclist plays an important part in keeping them safe in case of accident, helping lessen the effect of potential injuries. Choosing a jacket is an important part of making sure that your wardrobe is properly equipped with sensible clothing for riding. Many motorcycle jackets are made from leather, a useful and rugged material which works well to both keep the rider warm and help prevent injury. Any newcomers to riding a motorcycle would do well to remember what it felt like when they fell from their bicycle as a child. The kind of grazes and bruises that you received are nothing compared to what might happen in a high speed motorcycle accident. Any scrapes along the road surface are likely to leave a lot more than just simple grazes. Leather is King Motorcycle leather jackets are there to protect you from three kinds of injury. These are abrasion, impact and puncture. All three of these kinds of injury are very common in motorcycle accidents. A jacket will offer some protection from all three and maybe save your life in the process. Being dragged down a tarmac road while wearing a T-shirt, for example, will make a massive mess of your torso and back....

Will Kelly Osbourne design her own fashion line?

Kelly Osbourne has become well known for her quirky sense of fashion, and after appearing in the front row at London Fashion Week and joining E! Fashion Police with Joan Rivers, it looks like the feisty Brit is ready to make the leap into designing her own clothes. The oldest daughter of Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy Osbourne sent the rumor mill into overdrive with a recent interview in which she said, “When my line comes out, I’ll never make anything that won’t be translated to plus-size.” Kelly’s weight has fluctuated over the years and she’s been very candid about her struggles with her weight and her body image. But after that statement, she took a step back, clarifying, “It’s in the mood board stage at the moment. I’ve turned down every offer that’s come my way because they won’t let me have full creative control, and that’s so important to me.” While her foray into fashion might not be ready to hit the runways anytime soon, Kelly insists she has all the necessary credentials, and says she’ll be very involved in the creation of her line. “I wouldn’t do it if I couldn’t oversee everything… I wish I knew myself when it was going to happen.” What wouldn’t we see in Kelly’s line? Apparently, mullet skirts and fringed flip-flop boots: she recently told UK Glamour that she can’t stand...

5 winter coat trends for the 2012-13 season

You might not really want to start thinking about winter yet, but hey, if you get to think about all of the winter fashion, that’s not so bad, right? Here are five winter coat trends that will be big for the winter 2012-13 season. 1. Peplum coats. Yes, the peplum trend is strong on outerwear, too, and it’s a great way to add curves if you’re very petite. Just make sure the coat is quite fitted, or else the shape will be distorted and can visually add pounds to your frame. 2. Military. Military coats are almost always stylish, but the trend is strong again this year in part thanks to Kate Middleton’s military coats. Navy and black are the classic options, but other colors are good too as long as you stick to a classic shape and classic hardware. Wear these coats with feminine extras like cap toe pumps or a bright handbag to avoid looking androgynous. 3. Colorful. Who says winter has to be blah and black? A punchy hue like marigold, poppy, or emerald will make even the dullest winter day look a little brighter. Try a coat in a classic style, like a hip-length peacoat, or go super-trendy with a current favorite style like a moto jacket. 4. Moto jackets. Speaking of which, this style works in the winter months, too. Look for a style...

High street vs designer and how to choose

Much has been made of Duchess Catherine and her flair for mixing high street purchases with designer duds. But let’s say you’re not a princess with an unlimited budget, but rather a commoner looking to make the most of her fashion dollars while remaining impeccably stylish. How do you know when to save and when to splurge? Splurge if… – It’s a classic that will last a lifetime. An excellent example is the Burberry trench, a wardrobe staple that will never go out of style and can top off any number of looks from work to a date to a semi-formal occasion. – The per use cost is low. A $300 handbag sounds expensive, but if you carry it every single day, your per-use cost over the course of a year is less than $1. On the other hand, a $300 clutch that you carry once or twice for special occasions has a very high per-use cost. – The quality is important. Leather riding boots, wool coats, and other carefully crafted goods are worth extra money because you’re paying for good craftsmanship. – It’s for a big event. An occasion like a wedding merits a bit of a splurge; you’ll only do it once! So when it’s a big purchase and you’ve really earned it, whether for a special occasion or as a reward for reaching a personal life...
