It’s that time again: the latest and best spring fashions are hitting the runways at Paris Fashion week, and of course the celebrities are flocking to the runways as well to preview the new collections. The recently single Miranda Kerr and actress Jessica Alba were spotted at H&M’s Womenswear Fall/Winter 2014-2015 collection show on February 26, along with model Jourdan Dunn, singer Solange Knowles, and ‘Pretty Little Liars’ actress Troian Bellisario. Bellisario later posted on her Instagram account (@sleepinthegardn), “@mirandakerr thanks for sharing the bench. So nice to meet you, beautiful.”
Kerr stunned in an on-trend tea-length black frock with pointy-toed pumps, while Alba opted for a more playful lacy white mini with black tights and berry lips.
Elsewhere in Paris, the new face of Balmain’s spring 2014 campaign made a sizzling entrance to the brand’s autumn/winter show: songstress Rihanna arrived in a plunging olive trench and pointy-toed stiletto pumps, showing a lot of skin for the chilly February day. She finished off her look with a blunt bob and orchid lipstick, very on-trend for spring 2014.
Rihanna actually arrived late to the show, delaying the start until the models began walking without her! It seems Rihanna is taking a page from gal-pal Katy Perry, who last week kept the audience at Moschino waiting for almost an hour before finally making her entrance. (A round of embarrassing booing forced her to exit, red-faced, not long after.)
However, Rihanna did arrive later on and was seen posing backstage with Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing. He playfully got down on one knee for a romantic proposal-style snapshot on the star’s Instagram page (@badgalriri), which she captioned, “Love this guy @olivier_rousteing #BALMAIN.”
Ri-Ri kept up the adults-only fashion display throughout the week, arriving at Dior in a silky slip and garters under an oversized red coat, and flashing all—quite literally—when she wore a see-through mesh top to a Lanvin after-party. Apparently the grey, rainy Paris weather wasn’t enough to deter her risqué sense of fashion!
In contrast to Rihanna and Katy, the A-lister of honor at the Dries Van Noten show arrived punctually and caused no disruptions. Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke was in his front-row seat at the opening without causing any undue ballyhoo, and that seems to reflect on the brand itself: Van Noten prides itself as a brand of the fashion-forward yet serious, not the overly trendy or flashy.
Finally, Kanye West hit the Balenciaga show, though sadly fiancee Kim Kardashian didn’t make an appearance. Instead, the brunette beauty was in Vienna, Austria attending the Vienna Opera Ball as the celebrity date of millionaire Richard Lugner. Kim is expected to join her fiancé in the City of Lights (where they’re expected to wed next summer) for the remainder of Paris Fashion Week, along with baby daughter North West. Little sister Kendall Jenner is also in Paris for the fashion extravaganza.
